Marble It Up: Mayhem! (iOS): COMPLETED!

I was a big fan of Marble Blast Ultra on the Xbox 360, and this, apparently by the same team, coming to Apple Arcade was great… until I tried to play it and found it totally impossible to control with a touch screen. Then I realised I could use my 8bitdo controller with my iPad and, despite having to balance the system precariously on my lap, it actually worked well. Well enough to complete, even. So the game isn’t as …

Things I’ve been playing recently

Been a while since I did a roundup, so this covers several weeks… Lego Marvel Super Heroes (Wii U) My daughter and I completed this some time ago, but the post game mop-up is huuuuge. Not only is there the usual Free Play of levels, but there are loads of other smaller levels you unlock, and hundreds of events around the world map. We’ve 230/250 gold bricks now, so the end is in sight. Lego Jurassic World Demo (PS4) Oh …

Things I’ve been playing recently

It’s another lazy post saving roundup! Yay. Abyss (Wii U) There was a sale on recently where Abyss was a stupidly low price of just 44p, but you needed to own UnEpic in order to get it for that price. So I bought UnEpic, and got Abyss. I had no idea what Abyss was, but it was 44p. Plus the £8 or whatever UnEpic was. Erm. Turns out, it’s a gravity physics cave navigating arcade game. Sort of like the …

I made a game (with no zombies in it)

It’s not a very good game. In fact, the only “game” element is trying to collect all the items more quickly than before. It’s also a mutation of the example Phaser HTML5 game, although much is rewritten or modified. It’s also not very good. I think I said that. But! It shows how easy it is to make a HTML5 game with Phaser. Making a good game though? Bit trickier, and not really something Phaser can help with. Anyway, you …

NES Remix 2 (Wii U): COMPLETED

I loved the original NES Remix. Even though several of the included games were, er, not of the best quality (Pinball, Clu-Clu Land, Urban Champion, Golf), the package was fun and the challenges were great. Getting Remix 2 was always going to happen. And it happened! And all was good. The selection of titles this time round seems much better. That’s not surprising as Nintendo have picked some later NES titles for this sequel – Metroid, Super Mario Bros 2 …

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD (360): COMPLETED!

With one character, at least: all cash and goals on all levels GET! That’s not the end though – oh no. There’s never really an end to proper Tony Hawk’s games anyway, but as well as having other skaters to play as, completing the game also unlocks a new game mode: PROjectives. This is a new set of very hard objectives for each level. I’ve done all of them for The Warehouse already though 🙂 Besides doing that, I boosted …

Stuff I’ve played recently

A roundup of some of the games I’ve been playing in the last couple of weeks: Pullblox (3DS) Completed this a while back, but have gone back to finish some of the bonus levels that you unlock, and some of the user generated ones I’ve found strewn across the internets. It’s still lovely. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (360) Returned to mop up a few more achievements and actually play some of the side missions and games I’d totally missed. There are …

Zen Pinball (3DS)

On the eShop today was this – Zen Pinball. I’m quite a fan of Pinball FX (by the same devs) on the 360, and have put far too much time into some great handheld pinball titles like Metroid Pinball, Pokémon Pinball, Sonic Pinball Party and so on, so was really looking forward to Zen. And it doesn’t disappoint. The 3D is fantastic, and really adds to the game. The physics are spot on, and it feels like a real table. …

Pac-Man Championship Edition DX (360): COMPLETED!

My eyes! My beautiful, burning eyes! The neon! So bright and hurty! I’ve been a little addicted to this for the last few days. So much so, that I’ve managed to both complete each and every one of the 100+ game modes, come top of my friend’s leaderboard (by quite some way) and get ranked in the top 1.5% of all players in the world. And got all the achievements. Completed! All this came at a cost, though. My eyes. …

Detana!! TwinBee (360): COMPLETED!

Yeah, so I bought a Game Room game. I said I wouldn’t because it would mean that, due to the games costing 240 points each, I’d end up with a number of Microsoft Points that wasn’t a multiple of 100. Which, due to OCD, makes me uncomfortable. But I did need Detana!! TwinBee. So I had to buy 5 games at 240 points each to “fix” the points. Aha, yes, I’m mentally ill. First off, I played in Ranked Mode, …

Shadow Complex (360): COMPLETED! AGAIN!

I’ve not posted a lot here in a while. It’s mainly because I’ve been glued to Shadow Complex. Having completed 100% a few days ago, I started again on Hardcore mode, and today completed it 100% again. And I’m going to go straight back in and start it on Insane next. Yes, it really is that good. Here’s me at the top of my friends leaderboard: Yes, I am best.

Games played this week

I’ve not had time to update this week, but, unusually, I’ve managed to play a fair amount. Apollo Justice (DS)Still plowing through the second case. I’ve started cross-examining the accused’s girlfriend. I think I know what the story is, and who did it, and why. Hurrah! Animal Crossing (Wii)Same as it ever is, really. Played for about 20 minutes each day, just pottering round Cheese; a bit of fishing, some fossil collecting, weeding, chatting to the other residents, and that …
